KIBULI: Prince Nakibinge reveals plot to eliminate him

KAMPALA- As Muslims celebrated Eid al-Aduha yesterday, Prince Nakibinge said that he learnt about  a group that wanted to kill him from the security organs but did not take it serious until the Director of Public Prosecution informed him that he has evidence that he was among the Muslim leaders targeted by by a group that killed Muslim clerics last year.

The prince did not say which agency issued the warning. He, however, revealed that the information passed on suggested that he was among the Muslim leaders who had been targeted for murder during the spate of killings which ripped through the Muslim community two years ago.

Prince Nakibinge said he initially did not believe the intelligence information since, in his estimation, he was not aware of anyone with whom he had irreconcilable differences.

“I believe these are young men have been misled by people with ill motives against some of us. They (young men) should have been at the forefront of ensuring our safety.

The Prince also warned the youths against gambling addiction “Sports betting is not a source of income. Nobody will ever become rich because of betting. I call upon the cultural leaders to tell their subjects to work. It is alarming that even in the remote rural areas, the youth are also engaging in betting,” he said.

He noted that people in developed countries participate in betting as a form of leisure but not to earn a living from it.
