Former Nansana MP Nsereko Wakayima, who recently lost a court petition, has been arrested and detained in Nagalama police station.
Last week On Friday, the three appellant court judges led by outgoing deputy chief justice Steven Kavuma, Cheburion Bulshaki and Hellen Obura dismissed wakayima’s appeal that he had filed challenging high court’s ruling that had nullified his election as the member of parliament for Nansana municipality on the grounds that he did not have minimum qualifications to stand for a parliamentary seat.
Upon nullification of Wakayima musoke, the court declared NRM’s candidate Robert Kasule Sebunya who emerged the third in the 2016 elections as the dully the elected Member of Parliament.
This morning, the discounted wakayima called for a press conference at his offices in Nansana to pronounce his stand after court of appeal’s ruling. However before addressing the press, the place was already besieged by police that arrested him to Nagalama police station.
According to DPC for Nansana municipality Bernard Kawalo who oder his arrests of the issued that he did not inform police before calling a press conference said , wakayima was only picked for safe custody.
