FDC MPs reject Nambooze Besigye recall petition

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) will not back the move by the Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze to file a petition to recall Parliament to discuss Dr Kizza Besigye’s political situation.

Ms Nambooze has been trying to marshal 144 MPs to recall Parliament but the Daily Post understands that FDC will not support her moves largely because she abandoned Dr Besigye at some point during the polls and backed Amama Mbabazi.

Though Nambooze has since ‘reconciled’ with Dr Besigye-atleast publicly, FDC MPs are yet to make peace with Ms Nambooze whom they believe is using their former presidential candidate to hog media headlines and gain political leverage.

FDC MPs are also not happy with the salvos Nambooze has been sending out to the Rubaga North MP Moses Kasibante, a close ally to the ‘Besigyeists’ who helped defeat the FDC hate figure-Betty Kamya.

The duo[Nambooze and Kasibante] have been locked in a bitter war of words over Nambooze’s proposed Alcohol Control Bill which the Rubaga North MP is opposed to. To further humiliate Nambooze, influential opposition MPs are not expected to strongly back Ms Nambooze.
