The parliamentary committee of commissions statutory authorities and State enterprises has directed five Chinese companies to return Shs47 billion shillings that was meant to compensate people displaced by road construction projects.
This followed revelations in the Auditor general’s report of 2014/2015 that the money had been disbursed but there are people who were not compensated.
MPs on the committee have also blamed Uganda National Roads Authority for giving the compensation money to the Chinese contractors.
