Besigye Treason Case Hearing Flops

Nakawa chief magistrates’ court has further adjourned a treason case against the former FDC presidential candidate Dr. Kiiza Besigye to the 16th November 2016.

This after state prosecutor Deborah Itau informed presiding chief magistrate Lillian Buchana that police investigations are still on-going and that ample time is needed to complete them.

Besigye wondered why the investigations are taking long.

“Every time we are here, prosecution says the investigations are in advanced stage but they never get concluded,” wondered the Besigye and after the court session he said that; “I am going to protest coming to this court. I will continue fulfilling the conditions of bail in the same court and on the same case, when they are ready, they call me.”

Besigye was charged with treason and remanded to Luzira prison in May this year before he was released on bail by the High Court in July.
