A passenger plane that was flying from Uganda to the Democratic Republic of Congo crash-landed in Hoima district.
According to our sources, the plane had set off from Kajansi airfield and was set to land in Bunia in DRC, however, the pilot of the plane reportedly lost visibility as it crossed Lake Albert waters and searched for emergency landing.
The UPDF officers picked interest in the plane as it flew low around Buhuka landing site near the Kingfisher oil field in Kyangwali Sub County.
According to the 21st Battalion commander Lt Col David Byaruhanga, the UPDF officials moved closer to the plane to establish why it had landed and whether the occupants required any rescue.
Lt Col Byaruhanga said the pilot told them that the weather deteriorated as the plane flew over Lake Albert.
According to eyewitnesses, the plane landed at Buhuka playground and security officials said the plane did not receive any mechanical defects and the occupants survived without any injuries.
The plane later left after the weather improved.
