Makerere university council has officially confirmed that the university will be opened tomorrow, Thursday 18th August to freshers and continuing students.
The university has instructed students to report on Saturday where they will be received and registered while lectures will begin as early as Monday.
After 3 weeks, serious lectures and course works will commence. Students will have to adjust with time to cover up the time wasted.
The Mitchellex Bazaar that had been postponed indefinitely over the non teaching staff strikes that had hindered the opening of the university has finally been rescheduled after the strikes were called off and students shall be returning to campus.
Relatively the organizers of this year’s Bazaar, Travel Wonders Discover Africa have issued an email to all stakeholders and partners informing them to prepare for the much anticipated bazaar. Below reads the email.
It’s with much relief that we announce the much anticipated Makerere university Mitchellex 2016 bazaar is on effective this Saturday August 20th for a period of 2 weeks.
We shall operate daily from 0800am till midnight.
For us to meet our pressing obligatory requirements, we request everyone to settle with us before the commencement of the bazaar, that’s on Saturday. It shall also enable smooth planning.
We are still awaiting your preferred company logos, digital publicity materials, your MC mentions (can be thematic, daily), and any other visibility related items to further our ongoing publicity campaign. We shall not download to avoid any confusions.
We are on call, and on ground for space allocation, to assist in your display set up and to attend to all arising matters ahead of Saturday.
We appreciate the patience, cooperation and support you accorded us as we awaited the peaceful resolution of matters at the university.
