The Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court sent former Kampala police commander Aaron Baguma and his co-accused to the High Court on Tuesday to face trial over the murder of city business woman Betty Dona Katusabe.
The formally wanted man, arrived handcuffed shortly after 9am in a white pickup truck, dressed in a grey jacket and white shirt. He appeared before Chief Magistrate, Jamson Karemani, who committed him to the High court to stand trial after state told court they are done with investigations.
The suspect is to be tried at the next convenient criminal session. He is further remanded.
Baguma is accused of aiding the murder of city businesswoman Ms. Donah Katushabe last year over an unresolved Shs9m debt for a vehicle she had bought from Pine car depot, belonging to Muhammed Ssebuwufu (main suspect).
Other suspect are; Godfrey Kayiza, Philip Mirambe, Stephen Lwanga , Paul Tasingika, Yoweri Kitayimba, Shaban Otuddu and Damaseni Ssentongo.
According to the Director of Public Prosecution, Mike Chibita, Baguma was allegedly seen at the scene where Katushabe was being beaten and tortured by Ssebuwufu’s men but he did nothing to rescue her, despite him being a person with authority.
He is charged with Murder, Aggravated Robbery, and Kidnap;
He has however been further remanded to prison as high court organizes the date for his appearance to answer these criminal charges against him.
