The former Buyende District Police Commander (DPC) Assistant Superintendent of police (ASP) Muhammad Kirumira has declined to attend police Court shortly after blocking Journalists from accessing court.
while stranded at Police tribunal, Kirumira arrived and forcefully opened the gate for journalists to access court premises as police officers tried block him.
Kirumira noted that it is his voice that has changed the administration of Uganda Police that was operating against laws that govern this country.
“Police tribunal should stop operating like kangaroo courts, if they want me to attended Court session, they will call me after letting journalists to cover in all court sessions.” He said as they drove him away from Naguru police headquarters.
This is the second time when police is blocking journalists in this matter where Kirumira is accused of among others abuse of office and corruption charges that were leveled against him by police prosecutor Catherine Kusemereirwe.
Kirumira was arrested in February in areas of Bulenga after he had announced his resignation from police. He was tried in the tribunal and sent to notorious Nalufenya police facility where he spent three weeks.
