Uganda Christian University defeated St.Lawrence University 2-1 to win this year’s University Football League (UFL) title.
The mukono based educational institution were playing their first-ever UFL final at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo.
UCU took the lead only 10 minutes into the game with an Ezra Kizito Kaye strike as they held onto the lead until the final whistle of the first half.
Five minutes into the second half, Kaye was at it again with a second goal for UCU as they stretched their.
St. Lawrence however put up a good performance that later paid off with a Missi Ssemugera consolation but it was not enough to change much as UCU went on to win the game 2-1.
Uganda Christian University were later crowned champions of the 2019 University Football League and became the 8th winners of the title since its inception in 2012.
The winners UCU walked away with Ugx 4M as prize money while the runners-up took Ugx 3M.
