The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah has advised legislators to prioritize their expenditure in order to avoid debts and live a comfortable life.
“Do things for yourself not somebody else; live comfortably within your means because that’s what matters,” stressed Oulanyah adding that, “You need to learn to prioritize your spending and avoid things that are unnecessary.”
Oulanyah revealed this while giving a keynote speech at a training for members of the Parliamentarians SACCO held at Parliament Building, yesterday Monday 3rd Oct. 2016.
“It is a myth for one to think that the money we have is ours because in one way or another we spend it; when you have money on your account it does not stay there forever.”
“Many times, we spend money we do not have on material things we do not need to impress people who don’t care. Let’s learn to live within our means,”
The Parliament SACCO is a saving and credit society comprising over 900 current and former Members of Parliament and staff.
