Rugunda condemns grenade attacks on Opposition MPs as public stings Ofono Opondo

The Prime Minister, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, has today condemned the hurling of grenade explosives in the homes of three Opposition legislators

Monday night, unknown goons hurled man made grenades at the homes of Kyadondo East Robert Kyagulanyi and Makindye West Allan Ssewanyana home. The incident followed similar grenades that were thrown at MP Kasibante Moses’s house in Rubaga division in a couple of days before and damaged his property.

Addressing journalist at his office in Kampala Rugunda said ‘Anybody harming or killing the opponent because of opposing views should be condemned adding that the Government is not involved in assassinating political opponents’.

He however pledged that investigations into the matter are in progress to halt down whoever in behind it.

Yesterday NTV news anchor Sheila Nduhukire lashed out at Government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo following his pronouncement that  flash bang grenades at opposition MPs’ residences could be own scare tactics to frame gov’t, he tweeted adding that, “Opposition MPs know they don’t have the numbers and  logical arguments to stop age Limit, now using scarecrow tactics,”

Upon seeing Opondo tweet, she immediately branded him a fool, ‘’ “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
