For the first time ever, we watched the same person appear at two different shows at the same time.
This is after Besigye appeared on both NTV’s political program, ‘On The Spot’ and NBS ‘Frontline’.
On NTV, it was a recorded show while on NBS it was a live show. But prior to the shows, both camps were involved in a social media war as each tried to attract a bigger audience to their shows.
“Why catch @kizzabesigye1 elsewhere when u can catch him LIVE @nbstv at 10pm tonight on #NBSFrontline or online?” NBS news anchor, Rukh-Shana Namuyimba tweeted in what appeared to be mocking her former employers.
“Live is always better Dont miss Col besigye #NBSFrontline tonight on nbstv,” NBS reporter, Joseph Sabiti tweeted a few hours to the show.
In what appears to be NTV’s reponse, the Serena based station tweeted, “A MUST WATCH! Clearing the air, letting you know the truth. It’s a one on one! Tune in tonight 10.05pm” using its official twitter account.
This was followed by several tweets by Maurice Mugisha, the head of news at NTV.
Meanwhile, the former FDC presidential candidate has beaten heavy security at his home in Kasangati to turn up for the burial of David Mafabi, the chief magistrate of Makindye Magistrate court.
Mafabi, who came into the limelight recently when he summoned the Inspector General of police over the beating of Besigye’s supporters, died mysteriously last Sunday.
