The commander in chief Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has made more changes in UPDF and promoted senior army officers.
In new changes Col Paddy Ankunda was dropped from army spokesperson and replaced by Brig Gen Richard Karemire, Col Felix Kulayigye has also been replaced by Col Henry Matsiko, formerly working under president’s office, Major General Nakibus Lakara has also been deployed as the Commandant of Uganda Rapid Deployment Centre (URDC) in Jinja.
President also appointed Brig Paul Lokech commander second division replacing Major Gen Peter Elwere who is now commander land forces.
Brigadier Proscovia Nalweyiso has been promoted to Major General and becomes the first female soldier to hold such a rank in East Africa, Col Mike Kabango also promoted to Brigadier General and Brig Sam Kavuma is now deputy commander Air Force.
