Lukwago & Besigye Blocked From Leaving Their Homes

On his return on Monday, former FDC presidential candidate, Dr Kizza Besigye announced that they are to organise parallel independence day celebrations.

While addressing journalists at his home in Kasangati, he said there will be Independence Day celebrations at Kira Municipality in Wakiso District on October 7 (today) and 8 at Kawempe with the crowning celebrations on October 9 at Katwe, Kampala.

However, their first celebrations, which were scheduled for today at Kira Municipality have been blocked by police.

Police, as always has blocked Besigye from leaving his home. This is the same case at the homes of other opposition leaders including Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, Kawempe councillor, Muhammad Ssegirinya and Kira Municipality MP, Ssemujju Nganda.
