ARUA: The flamboyant Kyandondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi a.k.a Bobi Wine was picked by the security operatives while hiding in a hotel ceiling in Arua yesterday.
Sources say Bobi Wine now in police hands sought refuge in the hotel after his driver was shot dead by the security operatives after goons attacked one of President Museveni’s convoy vehicles in Arua town.
Museveni was on his way to the airfield after campaigning for NRM candidate Nusur Tiperu.
Sources have confirmed that the security agents targeted Bobi Wine even though the bullet hit his driver by accident. The operatives, according to sources, came back determined to kill Bobi Wine after escorting Museveni to board the helicopter.
Last evening, Bobi Wine’s driver identified as Yasin Kawooya was shot dead while in Bobi Wine’s Tundra car. After the shooting, Bobi Wine claimed in a tweet that the Police had shot his driver dead but bragged that he had escaped.

Barbie Kyagulanyi, Bobi Wine’s wife last night issued a brief statement expressing concern about her husband’s life. This was after Kawuma had been reported dead.
Confirmed reports indicate that Kyagulanyi was arrested together with aspiring MP for Arua Municipality, Kasiano Wadri after a combined security force raided and cordoned off a hotel in which he was set to sleep.
The whole fracas started when supporters believed to be of Kassiano Wadri blocked the President’s motorcade before smashing one of the cars in the convoy.
It is said that the president was in the car whose hind window was smashed.
Bobi Wine was in Kassiano Wadri’s camp while President Museveni was in Arua to campaign for Ms Nusura Tiperu-the NRM candidate.
Dr Kizza Besigye was also in Arua to canvass support support for Bruce Musema of the FDC. Besigye was however not involved in the chaos.
