Comedian Patrick Idringi popularly known as Salvador is a step closer to pocketing Shs330million.
This after he made it to the last 20 finalists were selected from 88 first contestants from 56 countries. His counterpart Pablo was also inclusive, but couldn’t make it to the top 20.
The top 20 comedians list was unveiled at an international press briefing that was held at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood yesterday.
The other African countries in the competition – Kenya, Malawi, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan and Tunisia – were all eliminated in round one.
According to laughfactory.com, the $100,000 (about 330m) grand prize awaits for the winner. The champion will also become a comedy peace world ambassador.
The competition is an initiative by Laugh Factory to promote world peace through smiles and laughter.
The grand finale will take place in Helsinki, Finland from December 4 to 10.
