Buyende District Police Commander (DPC) Muhammad Kirumira steps down.

Buyende District police commander (DPC)  Muhammed Kirumira has stepped down as investigations into various charges that were brought  against him proceeds.

Kirumira was last week charged by police tribunal at Police Headquarters in Naguru and charged with various counts which includes torture, extortion, corruption, bribery, unlawful arrests and excessive use of authority.

According to kirumira, Police has persistently kept on looking at him as criminal and the purpose of this trial in an internal tribunal is to find ways of undermining my reputation.

‘’I want to leave the police since it’s clean and I am branded dirty, this is my decision, I shall not change permanently’’.

‘’Therefore as a senior officer who has labored to wipe out crime without any special facilitation, I have realized that my image before the administration shall never change given the fact that I am still a young man’’ he said

”police administration decided to charge him with old framed criminal charges preferring them under disciplinary court, ‘’I now await for an official message replacing me so that I can hand over office to whoever is deemed fit’’.

He however pledged to file his official retirement application to earn my discharge letter in case court delivers its verdict.

Asp Kirumira came into spotlight after carrying out various operations in Nansana cracking down hard core criminals that were terrorizing Kampala, he was later taken for a course From course he was deployed in Kasese , old Kampala police station and later in Buyende district.
