Buyende District police commander Asp Muhamad Kirumira arrested.

Buyende District police commander (DPC) Asp Muhamad kirumira has today been arrested by police flying squad following his unofficial resignation from police.

The controversial police officer was picked from his home in Bulenga, Kampala suburb after forceful break into his house using power metal-cutting saw.

Yesterday Asp Kirumira announced his resignation from police to give room for police investigations into various charges that were slammed against him while he worked in Nansana, Wakiso District.

In a press briefing held at his home yesterday Kirumira faulted the security organ of persistently regarding him as a criminal, adding that the force is only trying to find ways of undermining his reputation.

He was last week arraigned before the Police Tribunal at Police Headquarters in Naguru and charged with among other crimes torture, extortion, corruption, bribery, unlawful arrests and excessive use of authority.

He is alleged to have committed the offences when he was in-charge of Nansana Police Station in Wakiso District in 2013 and at Old Kampala where he was Division Police Commander in 2014.

And today He was today expected to appear before police tribunal at police headquarters.
