Traders operating in arcades in downtown Kampala faced off with hawkers selling their wares outside their shops on Monday morning.
The traders accuse the hawkers of killing their businesses by selling their products at much lower prices.
The police intervened by ordering the hawkers off the streets.
The two sides later went for a meeting with the Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, to resolve their differences.
“No person shall act a hawker unless they have a hawker’s license granted to him or her for that particular purpose by the licensing authority.” Said Lukwago
