NAIROBI – His name is Ahmed Rashid an undercover police officer working in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area
The officer is responsible for the public execution of two teenage gangsters that was recorded in a video that has gone viral.
Rashid is feared, loathed and respected in Eastleigh for his pursuit of the notorious criminal gang named Super Power
He is arguably one of Nairobi’s most fearsome cops but for residents of Eastleigh, Ahmed Rahid is a hero in the war against crime.
On Friday, March 31, Rashid gained national attention after a video of him and fellow cop shooting two teenage gang members in Eastleigh went viral.
In the video, Rashid fires three shots into the body of one of the young men before handing the gun to his colleague.
Kenyans on social media condemned and supported the cop in equal measure.
Daily Post Uganda can now reveal more about Rashid and his under cover police operations in Eastleigh.
Rashid is said to be responsible for gunning down more than 15 Super Power gang members in the last two years.
The officer has also survived several attempts on his life by the gang members who early in 2017 engaged the officer and his colleagues in a dramatic gun battle in Eastleigh, near the popular Bangkok shopping center.
Last year a police officer working closely with Rashid was gunned down inside a matatu by a gang who stole his firearm.
Rashid, according to our sources hunted down the young men responsible for the cop’s killing and shot them dead near Mlango Kubwa in Mathare.
In March, Rashid who is active on Facebook vowed to kill members of the Gaza gang who killed his colleague in Kayole.
Days later in a post on Facebook the officer claimed he and his colleagues had eliminated the young men responsible for the Kayole cop’s death.
Residents of Eastleigh who spoke to TUKO.co.ke say Rashid would visit homes of gang members and give a warning to the young men to stop crime or he will kill them.
”Rashid will make an agreement with families of gang member’s that their sons should stop crime he would at times give the boys money to move out of town and start life afresh but if they continued with the gang mentality he will kill them without flinching,” a resident said.
Some residents also accused the officer of targeting wealthy families and extorting money from them failure he would gun down their children with little provocation.
Rashid is said to be a member of the Pangani 9 an undercover police unit operating in crime prone areas of Eastlands.
