KAMPALA: After losing in court, Hamis Kiggundu popularly known as HAM has turned to bloggers in a desperate attempt to blackmail DTB, a bank which he owes Shs127billion.
HAM’s last hope in court had been his petition in Buganda Magistrates Court, summoning the CEO and administrators of DTB but this too ended in tears when the summons were revoked and he was ordered to return to the Supreme Court.
On losing the case in the Court of Appeal, HAM, according to sources was misled into lodging an appeal into the Supreme Court. Later, he would realize the chances of his appeal succeeding are close to Katumba winning a Presidential race.
In a desperate attempt to run away from the mess he created for himself, he lodged an application in a lower court seeking summons for the administration, an application which hit a dead end yesterday, finally ending his hope in court.
Like a drowning man who clutches on straws in an attempt to save himself, HAM has since turned to fake news and propaganda which is being churned out by mainly bloggers after all reputable media refused to run them for the good of their brands.
It ought to be remembered that HAM’s troubles started when he acquired a loan of over Shs39.7 billion from Diamond Trust Bank Kenya and Diamond Trust Bank Uganda. However, he defaulted on paying back the loans.
Instead, he turned around to sue Diamond Trust Bank Uganda for fraud, alleging that the bank has no license to operate in Uganda, a case he lost in the Court of Appeal.
