UIA boss saga takes another twist, forged academic documents leak

KAMPALA: New information emerging indicate that the interdicted executive director for Uganda investment Authority (UIA) Jolly Kaguhangire could have not sat for Uganda certificate of education (UCE) following the leaking of her allegedly academic documents.

According to a source that spoke on anonymity, Kaguhangire was born on 1977 however according to her UCE certificate, she sat for her O level Examinations in 1983.

Certificates making rounds on social media indicate that she only passed English with pass 7, principal of accounts with a pass 7, biology with a C6 and geography with Pass 8 and failed commerce, physical science, mathematics and history.

Kaguhangire was on Tuesday suspended by the board of UIA led Emely Kugonza over allegations of corruption, insubordination, lying to the board, closure of public offices without authorization among other avers and instructed her to handover her office to the interim director Basil Ajer.

The board however instituted a committee to investigate all the allegations and vowed to avail her a chance to defend herself.

In her reaction to the impeachment, Kaguhangire petitioned the chairman for UIA saying she is the still the executive director for UIA, “ I would like to bring it to your attention, the fact that the board decision made in the 51st  board meeting  is invalid and contradicts will the rules that govern the Authority.

“All allegations that were made against me are unfounded and totally baseless and I remain the available to answer all of them satisfactorily in an unbiased form,” she said in a statement.

She said the board meeting did not have the quorum and by the time board reached the decision three members had left.
