MUNYONYO: At the sidelines of the ongoing Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference, tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia has hosted the House Speaker of India’s Parliament The Rt. Hon. Om Birla to a private lunch at Commonwealth Resort Munyonyo.

The two held a private discussion on matters of business opportunities and interest.

Uganda is this week hosting the Commonwealth parliamentarians who are in the country for 64th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference.

Tycoon Sudhir has Sudhir Rupaleria has held bilateral discussions Indian Speaker who is in Uganda for the CPC conference.

Mr. Sudhir, a Ugandan businessman of Indian extraction returned to Uganda in 1985vand has since invested massively building an empire that spans from hotels and hospitality industry, real estate, floriculture, education and schools to media, insurance and forex and until recently banking, before his Crane Bank was controversially transferred to DFCU bank by the Central Bank.

The Parliament of Uganda found the Central Bank culpable of misconduct in the transaction.

His companies employ more than 10,000 Ugandans.
