Panic as footage shows Kamya sneaking out Kibuule’s gun

Kampala Minister Beti Olive Kamya reportedly agreed to sneak out a gun that was allegedly taken into the parliamentary chambers by Ronald Kibuule, the State Minister for Water Resources.

Sources within Parliament indicate that after opposition MPs insisted on frisking Kibuule during the session on Tuesday, September 26, he passed on the gun to Beti Kamya who was seated next to him, and that the latter put the gun in her bag and sped off, after which the Minister allowed to be checked. This, according to the opposition MPs, endangered not only the Speaker Rebecca Kadaga but also other MPs.

“When Kibuule was sure that the gun had been smuggled out, he stood up and removed his jacket,” the sources said.

Meanwhile, those who have viewed the video footage from the chambers insisted Minister Kamya put the gun in her hand bag and walked out.

They said that after Kadaga viewed the footage, she decided to suspend Kibuule alongside 24 other legislators for orchestrating chaos in the House.

By press time efforts to get comment from Minister Kamya were futile.
