PANAMERA MURDER: DPP lines up 10 witnesses to testify against Desh

Hearing of the case where city socialite and rally driver Desh Kananura and four others are accused of murder resumed early this month at the Kampala High Court, and now the Directorate of Public Prosecution has lined up 10 witnesses to testify against the suspects.

The first prosecution witness Emmanuel Taleka, a former employee of Panamera Bar who claimed to have been at the scene of crime, took to the stand and pinned his former boss and the co-accused for causing the death of Badru Katerega, his fellow worker at Panamera Bar.

Kananura, his brother Raymond Kananura, his security guards Cyrus Maganda, Jacob Onyango and Samuel Muzoloowa are accused of assaulting Kateregga to death, accusing him of stealing of Shs30,000 from the bar.

Earlier this month, High court in Kampala presided over by Justice Joseph Murangira, slapped murder charges on Kananura and the co-accused and the hearing of the case officially started on Monday this week.

According to the senior principal state attorney in the DPP’s office Jane Okuo Kajuga, state already has 10 witnesses to pin Kananura and co-accused of murder. One of them is the former employee Emmanuel Taika.
