You can never really beat a derby victory – and Manchester United fans know that feeling very well right now.
Pep Guardiola’s side played some brilliant football at times at Old Trafford and were well worth the 2-0 lead that Kevin De Bruyne and Kelechi Iheanacho gave them in the first half.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic pulled a goal back for Manchester United late in the half – which eventually set up a nervy finish to the match.
A few City fans will have been sweating a little bit as the visitors just couldn’t seem to finish the game off, in particular after Kevin De Bruyne hit the inside of the post midway through the second period.

However, City held on for the victory despite some late pressure – and the supporters wasted absolutely no time in starting their celebrations.
Kevin De Bruyne was unsurprisingly the focus for many fans, with others also mentioning how well Manchester City performed without the suspended Sergio Aguero.
