FDC sacks Winnie Kiiza as LoP over secret Statehouse visits

KAMPALA – Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) President Patrick Oboi Amuriat, has reshuffled the party’s leadership at Parliament, replacing the Leader of Opposition Winnie Kiiza, with Gulu Woman MP, Betty Aol Ochan

The exit of Kiiza, who is also  Kasese woman Member of Parliament, follows her notable refusal to work with the party leadership at Najjanankumbi and her rumored secret visits to statehouse.

The FDC Working Committee management meeting that took place on Friday confirmed Betty Aol Ochan as the new Leader of Opposition.

Meanwhile, Ssemujju Nganda has been maintained as the Chief Opposition Whip in Parliament and will be deputized by Hon Tonny Muhindo.

A source from the top party leadership revealed to this websites  that FDC President Patrick Amuriat and Secretary General, Nandala Mafabi resolved last week to drop Ms. Kiiza for rebelling against the Party.

Hon Winnie Kiiza supported Muntu in the last FDC elections.

Meanwhile, the Buhweju county MP, Francis Mwijukye has been appointed Commissioner of Parliament replacing veteran Cecilia Ogwal of Dokolo.

Fungaroo Kaps Hassan of Obongi county has been made Committee Chairperson of Government Assurance and Nandala Mafabi chair Public Accounts Committee.

In other changes, Hon Mubarak Munyagwa replaces Abdu Katuntu as the Chairperson of the Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE). He will be deputized by Hon Moses Kasibante.

Roland Kaginda was named head of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, while DP’s Betty Nambooze was named CPA Representative.
