KAMPALA: Kampala University proprietor and star scout boy Prof Badru Kateregga isn’t well at least per his admission that a young woman he calls a wife wants him dead over property and sex.
Professor Badru Kateregga, a renowned Ugandan entrepreneur and educator, was recently violently attacked by one of his wives, he was dragged, shoved, beaten and left for dead.
Consequently, Kateregga, founder of Kampala University, was left with severe injuries, including brain damage and clotting.
Despite the severity of the incident, the wife showed no empathy as the elderly professor lay bleeding and helpless on the floor.
It was his children, who live abroad, that arranged for emergency medical attention, saving his life after a distressing call from one of the sober house helps.
According to an inside source, the woman in question is Jolly Kateregga a foreigner of Rwandese origin believed to be involved in a sexual relationship with a senior official at the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) who hails from Ibanda western Uganda.
Reports also indicate that this young woman is trying to document most of Prof Kateregga’s vast property into her names with influence from a senior politician and a renowned city businessman who’s also believed to be chewing her.
This Muvandimwe woman is reported to have invested some of the loot from Kateregga’s empire in Kenya and Dubai where she normally goes for romping with her Munyankore side bonkmate.

The recent attack was not an isolated incident, sources close to the professor revealed that his relationship with this particular wife had been tumultuous for some time. She was allegedly trying to monopolize him and his vast estate, which includes prime properties in Kampala and other major cities. She also sought to exclude his 25 biological children from any say in his affairs.
At a recent Baganda Nkoba Zambogo event at KU’s Jinja campus, Kateregga publicly acknowledged the domestic violence he endured. Although reluctant to share specific details of the attack, he made it clear that his children should be the sole inheritors of his estate, should anything happen to him.
