COSAFA U-17 Girls Championship: Uganda XI Vs Mauritius


PORT LUIS: Uganda Girls U17 National team head coach Ayub Khalifa has released the starting list for the COSAFA Girls U17 the match against the hosts Mauritius in the COSAFA Girls U17 Championship at St. Francois Xavier Stadium in Port Luis Mauritius this afternoon.

This is the second game for Uganda in Group A after a 1-1 draw with Zambia in the opening match.

Uganda Martyrs High School Goalkeeper Daphine Nyayenga retained her number 1 position, Gillian Akadinda (Olila High School) on the right, Patricia Akiror (Masaka SS) on the left while Stella Musibika (Kawempe Muslim SS) and Bira Nadunga are to take over the central defence role.

Team to face Mauritius

In the midfield, Uganda Martyrs midfield Keven Nakacwa starts with Shakira Nyinagahirwa from Kawempe Muslim SS, Margret Kunihira joins the offensive positions at the flanks together with Taggy High School’s Zaitun Namaganda.

Team captain Juliet Nalukenge is remains in her natural position as the leading forward together with assistant Captain Fauzia Najjemba.

‘We have made a strong review of our last game. This match is so important to us. We only need victory from the game’ Said Ayub during the pre match press conference on Saturday.

The match kicks off at 3:30 pm Mauritius time.
