Calm in Busoga as Kyabazinga is dropped from ambassadorial list

Daily Post Uganda has learnt that the Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Wilberforce Gabula, has been struck off the list of the recently appointed ambassadors vetted by MPs, a move welcomed by majority of Busoga kingdom subjects.

The Parliament appointments committee on Tuesday vetted ambassador nominees to foreign missions.

Besides the vetting of the ambassadors and deputy ambassadors to foreign missions, the committee has vetted former Commander of Defense Forces, Gen. Katumba Wamala for his new assignment as state minister for works.

However, the name of the Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Wilberforce Gabula IV is not on the list of those scheduled to be vetted by the committee.

”We are happy that President Museveni finally realised his mistake of appointing the mighty Kyabazinga of Busoga as an ambassador, we are happy that he is off the list” Haruna Isabirye of Kamuli stated.

The announcement of the Kyabazinga’s appointment last month sparked uproar among Busoga loyalists and political analysts who argue that it is unconstitutional for a king or cultural leader to get involved in politics.
